SINGAPURA

Hanover Project presents ‘Singapura’, the first exhibition of its kind running from 20 February to 26 February, Mon-Fri 10 am-5 pm. There is a preview evening on Thursday 20 February from 5-7 pm. Everyone is invited and welcome to attend, where refreshments will be freely available.

‘Singapura’ is an exhibition showcasing artworks from current students and alumni from the previous three attending years of students to Singapore. Visiting the country, working with other students and gaining inspiration from the contrasting culture.

The Singapore research trip is an opportunity offered to students in their second year of Fine Art undergraduate degree at UCLan. It enables the students to visit the country, to meet and work with students in the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). The students who have attended this trip have gained insight into the differences in history, day-to-day life and the arts of Singapore. Students have also benefited from researching both the SAW (Singapore Art Week) festival and the Singapore Bienniel Exhibitions across the city in many venues. This insight has allowed the fine art students to take inspiration, creating works in reaction to this opportunity.

The artists who are exhibiting works are from the previous three attending years. Current second years, third years and alumni/MA students.

Samuel Cook, Rachel Cousins, Emily Dickson, Robin Fanner, Helena Ford, Bethany Grace, Rikki Kirby, Helen Morely, Jennifer Taylor, Abigail Rooney, Megan Wild.
